DIY (Part 2): The Notched V-Neck

Welcome to Part 2 of our Do-It-Yourself series! Today we'll show you how to take any crew neck t-shirt - such as the American Apparel one below - and turn it into something a bit more sexy. The notched v-neck is one of the easier modifications out there. It only takes about 5 minutes and can be done in 4 easy steps. So, grab your scissors and get ready to cut it out!

1. Find a tighter fitting crew neck t-shirt. The look just doesn't have the same effect if the shirt is too loose.

2. Find the center of the front crew (it's usually in line with the interior tag). Grab your scissors and make your first cut about 1/4" to the right of the center point. The cut should be straight down and about 1" in length.

3. Repeat the same cut about 1/4" to the left of the center point.

4. Cut inward at an angle from both existing cuts so that they meet at a point. If the notch that you've cut out is more or less triangular in shape, congrats - you've created your very own notched v-neck! Now, put it on and enjoy!

P.S. Don't be surprised if your friends are jealous of how sexy you look. You can always help them out by sending them over to UG Unzipped! ;)
